Hey, so the 4th of August me (Ed) my dad and my priests quorum went on a 50 miler up through the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho. Wow was it beautiful. Here are some pics but these don't even do it a fraction of the justice it deserves. There is something about being there and hearing and smelling it along with the beautiful view. But I think the general consensus was that the teriyaki style chicken was the best of our dehydrated meals. We also had the opportunity of trying mexican style rice and chicken (the worst by far), oriental style rice and chicken (okay, looking back, they were all pretty far from real), and lasagna. In the morning we had eggs that had a similar texture to that of a sponge, and we even had dessert. Blueberry cheesecake was the only thing that kept us motivated. Though far from real, it was real far from nasty. Anyways, the water was an average of 40 degrees and we swam in every lake that we camped at. You can see that we found a natural waterslide which was absolutely amazing. I deffinitely won the most preferred by the mosquitoes contest. I think we counted about 17 on just my back after the first night. Who forgot to tell me that mosquitoes had no problem biting through shirts. I think I went through a 24 oz. bottle of mosquito repellent though (a lot of good it did me). But wow, I would do it again in a heartbeat. And the finish it off, we hiked the last day in hail the size of marbles...yeah, it did hurt. Anyways, thanks for sharing in another of Ed's Edventures. Wow, that is corny but I kinda like it.
