Sterling Scholar

Hey Everyone, I guess the Blog isn't a big hit. But just in case any of you still read it, I got Sterling Scholar in Visual Arts at our school. This means I get a pretty good scholarship to any Utah School and I will compete in April at the State level for an even bigger scholarship opportunity. Just to give you guys an idea, winners on a state level receive full tuition scholarship for 4 years no questions asked, to the U, Westminster, and BYU. Anyways, it was a happy day. Thanks for those who still read this and I want to hear about your lives. If you are having trouble posting or don't know how then feel free to e-mail me @ swimmin24.7@gmail.com. Oh yeah, this is Ed by the way, I had to post on Kristens (long story) Love you all and I look forward to our family festivities around the holidays.

SWIMATHON!

Well, Wasatch Swim Team is having its one and only fundraiser and it is something slightly different this year. We are having a swimathon and no, its not near as much fun as a walkathon for 3 reasons: You have limited breathing, You can only swim so slow, and we will be swimming at least 3 miles in less than 2 hours. But hey, who's complaining? The breakdown of money gleaned is pretty simple, 5% goes to USA swimming for setting up the whole program, 50% goes to the team as a whole to pay for all the team expenses (and waterpolo gear for the spring) and 45% goes to the individual swimmer to pay for trip fees, entry fees, and stuff like that. So the reason why I am posting this is to see if any of you love us so much as to donate. The 3 miles is 200 laps of the pool. It is either 200 laps or 2 hours (whichever comes first) but we should be able to complete the 200 laps. So the pledge is per lap so if you were to pledge 5 cents then you would be donating $10.00. This plea for help is for me and kristen so as much as I would like to say you can just donate double for me, you should probably be willing to pledge the same for both of us. You can just e-mail me if you would like to pledge anything. My E-mail is swimmin24.7@gmail.com. We would appreciate any support that you could provide us and the team. Thanks and love you all...Ed
P.S. why does nobody else post anything? I want to hear about everyone else's lives.

Edventures!

So my latest adventure involved enough butter to butter 22,954 pieces of toast (it would take over two lifetimes to consume the amount of butter). I (as well as several other Wasatch High School art students) had the opportunity to go down to the state fair for 6 hours and sculpt a kick-line of animals. There was a cow, horse, dog, cat, mouse, and chicken. The butter is recycled each year from the last years butter sculpture (last year it was a life-size bull rider and rodeo clown). We were working in a 50 degree refrigerator with a glass window so that people could watch while we made it. It was strange working with a medium that changes consistency while you work. It was sweet though, I got a shirt and a sweatshirt that said "got butter?" and I learned that I would never want to sculpt out of butter full-time. The first time I walked into the refrigerator I started gagging. Butter has a totally different smell when there are about 250 gallons worth of it. Here are some pictures. We finished most of it, but maybe those pictures will come later (my friend took some). Overall, you could say that it was a Dairy big mess.

Kinda random :)

Well, this is kind of random but I thought that it would be cool to share. I (Kristen) have a really good friend that is going to Switzerland to do a kind of foreign exchange student thing. she is going all by her self for 4 months! We had a fun going away party for her and this is actually a pretty cool picture. these are 4 of my best friends!! and don't concentrate too hard on what I look like. I was the one taking the picture and I had to concentrate real hard. we had been taking pictures for about 10 minutes straight because I couldn't get everyone in the picture. so don't mind me! (left to right: Abby Wade, Nellie Kacher (girl going to Switzerland), Camari Remund, Ashley Huntington, and ME!!!)

Blog Restrictions

Hey, I opened it up so that anyone can read it. How does everyone feel about this? I think this will make it easier for people who may not want to write or actually have an account. At least they can view it. Please leave feedback and I can change it accordingly. I created a little poll on the side that will end on 10/10/08.

Edventure: 50 miles and still livin'

Hey, so the 4th of August me (Ed) my dad and my priests quorum went on a 50 miler up through the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho. Wow was it beautiful. Here are some pics but these don't even do it a fraction of the justice it deserves. There is something about being there and hearing and smelling it along with the beautiful view. But I think the general consensus was that the teriyaki style chicken was the best of our dehydrated meals. We also had the opportunity of trying mexican style rice and chicken (the worst by far), oriental style rice and chicken (okay, looking back, they were all pretty far from real), and lasagna. In the morning we had eggs that had a similar texture to that of a sponge, and we even had dessert. Blueberry cheesecake was the only thing that kept us motivated. Though far from real, it was real far from nasty. Anyways, the water was an average of 40 degrees and we swam in every lake that we camped at. You can see that we found a natural waterslide which was absolutely amazing. I deffinitely won the most preferred by the mosquitoes contest. I think we counted about 17 on just my back after the first night. Who forgot to tell me that mosquitoes had no problem biting through shirts. I think I went through a 24 oz. bottle of mosquito repellent though (a lot of good it did me). But wow, I would do it again in a heartbeat. And the finish it off, we hiked the last day in hail the size of marbles...yeah, it did hurt. Anyways, thanks for sharing in another of Ed's Edventures. Wow, that is corny but I kinda like it.

For All Those Crazy Twilight Fans!!!

Well, the new book is now out and whoever is reading I'm sure is loving it. But, the book came out last night at midnight and Jessica and I (Kristen) were so fortunate to have our hand on it at noon yesterday. Yes, that's right, me and jess had this book 12 hours before the rest of the world. We were in days market and we happened to run across it. Days is no book store but there is was. Somebody must have accidentally put the book our early and not realized what happened. but, we paid for the book and left as quick as we could. I am reading it now and I just can't put it down.
Thought that this was a crazy enough story to stick on the blog. TO ANYONE READING THIS BOOK... we need to have a get together and chat:) I am dying to discuss this book with someone! I love you all and hope to be able to talk to you soon about this amazing new book!!!

Super Saving #1-From Britt

Hey, this is the first of many Super Savings tips from Britt. This week (ends Tues.) Albertsons has a deal that if you buy 10 general mills products in one single transaction, you get 2 free movie tickets to Batman. Kelly has been stoked for this movie, so I'm going to do this. The select cereals are fruity Cheerios (ask Charlie and Eli, these are delicious!) Multi Grain Cheerios, Regular and Honey nut Cheerios, and Trix. There is also Toaster Strudels, Chex Mix, and other great stuff. I'm probably going to buy 8 boxes of cereal, and two boxes of Toaster Strudels. There are tons of coupons for these cereals so you can get extra off. As soon as the new adds come, I'll let you know of other deals. Enjoy!

Hello Olsen Family (from the Anderson Family)

Hello all you Olsens, now, lets set some ground rules...okay so there aren't any. But if you aren't familiar with blogging just tell me in a comment or something (located at the bottom of this entry) But I thought this would be a nice and easy way to get news through the family. For example, I recently went on a way fun date where we had a cool scavenger hunt. It involved dumping frostys on fries and eating them, well lets just say that my date got a little excited.

So there you have it, just stuff that you would like to share with the family. Allan and Brenda, I would like it if you would put up Trevor's new address each time and stuff like that. Well, I hope this ends up being a lot of fun for the whole family. Oh, so leave your e-mail address in the comments and I will e-mail you all the information ie all the passwords, login ID, and if you have any questions about how to blog I will also explain that. Don't be afraid, it is really quite simple.
